Honey Butter Dinner Rolls
These honey butter dinner rolls are the prefect side to complement any dish. These slightly sweet and buttery rolls are sure to get you plenty of compliments at any gathering.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups bread flour
2 tbsp. instant yeast
4 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. honey
1 1/2 cup warm milk ( 125-130 degree)
6 tbsp. melted butter
1 egg
- Topping
2 tbsp. melted butter
2 tsp honey
Directions
- Combine 2 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, butter, egg, honey and warm milk in a mixing bowl.
- Add in remainder of flour a little at a time to form a soft, sticky dough.
- Once dough become manageable, remove it from the mixing bowl and place on a floured surface for kneading.
- Knead dough for about 3 mins adding in flour a couple tbsp. at a time to form a soft dough. dough should no longer be sticky.
- Place dough in a greased bowl large enough to allow the dough to double in size, cover dough with a dish towel and let is rest for 30 mins. at room temp in a dark area. I use the oven or microwave.
- After dough has doubled in size, punch out the excess air with your fist and knead lightly. section dough into 24 even pieces and form small balls.
- Place the formed dinner rolls in a baking pan and let the rolls rise for another 30 mins.
- Bake at 375 degree for 15 – 18 mins until golden brown. 18 mins if you like your bread with a more harder crust. My daughter likes it chewier so I do 15 mins
- Remove from oven and brush with the melted butter and honey mixture. enjoy.
Tip: The extra bread can be stored in a zip lock bag in the refrigerator or freeze for future use. But take it from me, they wont last that long.
